The Cave: 17/31 #solc16

Today's slice is actually a poem written by my 7-year-old daughter, Sophie. She is studying poetry at school and we were reading some aloud last night, which inspired her to write something of her own. I am publishing it here with her permission.

Enjoy!

The Cave
By Sophie Schroeder

Deep, deep down in a hollow cave,
Dink sat waiting for some lemonade.
He sat and sat and saw a bat
And came running down the lane!

  1. Love it! How brave your daughter is to share her poetry with a larger audience. Please tell her she did a great job and I really like how she used repetition, especially in the first line. My class is launching into poetry soon and I can't wait!
